AI advisory & implementation

We turn AI capability into business performance.

LAMO Ventures is an AI advisory and implementation firm. We help established companies identify where AI can improve the business, then build and deploy the systems that do it.

The gap between AI capability and operating results A schematic line chart. Over time, available AI capability rises steeply while the value a typical company realizes in its operations rises only slightly. The widening area between the two lines is labeled "value left on the table". Value Time AI capability available Value realized in the business Value left on the table

The market problem

Why most AI programs stall.

Most companies have more AI ideas than they can pursue. Whether the program produces a measurable result in the P&L usually comes down to six questions.

  1. Which opportunities are commercially valuable

Most companies have a long list of candidate projects and no agreed view of which ones justify the investment.

  2. What should be built versus bought

Some problems are solved by a vendor contract, others by a few weeks of engineering. Deciding early which is which avoids wasted quarters.

  3. How AI fits existing workflows

A system designed without reference to how the work is done today tends to get worked around rather than used.

  4. How a prototype becomes an operation

A working demo is the easy part. Production means handling edge cases, permissions, hand-offs, and failure modes.

  5. How the resulting value is measured

If no baseline is captured before the work starts, there is no way to say afterwards whether it worked.

  6. How people are brought through the change

The people who are supposed to use a system determine whether it succeeds. Bringing them along is part of the work.

LAMO Ventures closes the gap between AI experimentation and operating results.

What we do

Four services.

Each engagement is scoped around a measurable outcome. If we do not think a problem has one, we will say so before you spend anything.

AI Opportunity & Operating Strategy

We identify where AI can affect revenue, margin, speed, or customer value in your business — and which candidate projects are not worth doing.

  • Opportunity map, sized and ranked
  • Build-versus-buy calls with reasoning
  • A sequenced implementation plan

Rapid Implementation

We build and deploy working systems using current models, automation, conventional software, and workflows designed around the people who use them.

  • Deployed, working software
  • Evaluation and guardrails from the start
  • Built to be handed over

AI Transformation

We redesign the process around the new capability: training, governance, roles, and the integration work that determines whether the change lasts.

  • Process and role redesign
  • Governance, review, and escalation paths
  • Enablement for the teams doing the work

Portfolio Value Creation

We work with investors and operating teams to assess companies, build transformation plans, and run improvements across several businesses at once.

  • Diligence and post-close assessment
  • Value-creation plans with owners and dates
  • Patterns reused across the portfolio

How we work

The same five steps, every time.

We put particular weight on step two. A project that never measured its starting point cannot show what it changed, and most AI projects never measure their starting point.

  1. Find the constraint

Agree on the business problem worth solving. It is often different from the one first described to us.

  2. Measure the starting point

Establish a baseline for cost, time, quality, risk, or revenue before any changes are made.

  3. Build with the operators

Design and implement alongside the people who understand the work, because they know where it breaks.

  4. Deploy and improve

Move past the demonstration into reliable daily use, with the monitoring and fallbacks that requires.

  5. Prove the result

Measure the change against the baseline, then capture what is reusable so the next one is faster.

Who we help

Established businesses with manual operations.

We do our best work in companies that already have a sound business and still run on manual processes. Most of the companies we work with share several of the following traits.

  • Loyal customers

Repeat customers and durable relationships — the asset our work builds on.

  • Valuable products or distribution

An established position in a market, with room to grow it.

  • Repetitive, labor-intensive workflows

Work done the same way a thousand times a month, mostly by hand.

  • Fragmented data, aging systems

The information exists, but it is spread across systems that were never designed to work together.

  • Leadership committed to change

Someone senior who is prepared to change the underlying process, not only add software on top.

  • A clear line to the P&L

Revenue, margin, speed, or customer experience — with room to move.

Our work assumes the business is already sound. We are not a turnaround firm.

Who we typically work with

  • CEOs and owners of established businesses
  • Private-equity operating partners
  • Portfolio company executives
  • Family offices and acquisition capital partners

Our model

Where the business is today, and where it is headed.

We think our compensation should track the value we help create. Over time that principle changes what the business looks like, so we describe the stages here.

  1. Today

    Advisory and implementation

LAMO Ventures earns project fees by producing measurable results. This is the whole of the business as it operates today.

  2. Where it fits

    Performance partnerships

Compensation may include success fees, recurring economics, or co-investment where we help create substantial long-term value. Available to discuss now, engagement by engagement.

  3. Long-term direction

    AI-enabled acquisitions

Partnering with investors to acquire established businesses where technology and operational change can create significant value — under an independent-sponsor or long-term holding model.

For the avoidance of doubt: LAMO Ventures is an advisory and implementation firm today. We have not raised a fund and we do not hold a portfolio. The second and third stages describe the direction we intend to take and the terms we are open to discussing. They are not descriptions of current operations.

Why LAMO Ventures

How we operate.

We do the implementation

We write the code, build the integrations, and stay involved until the system runs reliably without us. The deliverable is a working system rather than a set of recommendations.

Business value first

We choose technology based on the economic problem. The right answer is sometimes a model, and sometimes a revised process or an off-the-shelf tool.

Senior people, directly involved

The people who assess the problem also build the solution. We do not staff engagements with layers of junior consultants.

Aligned for the long term

We are open to structures that tie what we earn to what we help create — success fees, recurring economics, or co-investment where it makes sense for both sides.

Engagement models

Structured to fit the problem.

We do not publish a rate card, because the right structure depends on the problem, the ownership of the result, and how much of the outcome we can influence.

Diagnostic
A focused assessment of where AI can affect your numbers, what it would take, and what to do first.
Fixed-scope implementation
A defined system, built and deployed to an agreed specification, with a complete handover.
Transformation partnership
Ongoing work across several processes and teams, sequenced over quarters rather than weeks.
Performance-aligned
Part of the compensation depends on the measured result, agreed in advance against a documented baseline.
Portfolio program
A repeatable assessment-and-execution motion applied across a group of companies under common ownership.
Acquisition or investment partnership
Working alongside capital partners on businesses where technology and operational change drive the thesis.

Every engagement begins the same way: a defined problem, a measured baseline, an agreed scope, an owner for the result, and a measurement plan agreed before the work starts.

Team & network

A small core team, drawing on a wider network.

LAMO Ventures operates with a small core team and a network of experienced AI builders, product leaders, operators, and business strategists. Each engagement is staffed with the specialists the work requires, and no more.

  • Applied AI engineering

Models, evaluation, retrieval, and agents, with experience of what holds up in production.

  • Product and design

Deciding what gets built, and making it usable under real working conditions.

  • Data engineering

Extracting information from existing systems and putting it in a form models can work with.

  • Operating leadership

People who have run a P&L, a service organization, or an operations floor themselves.

  • Change and enablement

Training, adoption, and the organizational work that determines whether a system gets used.

  • Commercial strategy

Pricing, market position, and the case for whether a piece of work is worth doing.
